About Buildora

Twenty-five years of building where it matters.

Buildora is a privately owned building and civil engineering contractor headquartered in Dubai, with 2,800 direct employees and regional operations in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, and Rwanda.

Our story

From a 40-person site team to a Tier-1 regional contractor.

Buildora was founded in Dubai in 2001 by a group of civil and structural engineers who had worked for international contractors across the Gulf. Our first contract — a G+4 residential building in Al Barsha — was handed over three weeks early, and that client has awarded us eleven projects since.

We expanded into Qatar in 2008, Saudi Arabia in 2012, and East Africa in 2016, each time by following existing clients and then building a local team, local supply chain, and local registrations. Today 68% of our workforce is employed through regional entities, and every regional office is led by a managing director with at least fifteen years' experience in that market.

We self-perform the work that determines programme — formwork, concrete, rebar, and structural steel — so we control the critical path rather than manage it from a distance.

How we operate

Our purpose and the values our people are measured on.

Every employee's annual review includes objectives against these four values, from site foremen to the executive committee.

PURPOSE

Deliver certainty to people who build

Developers commit capital on the strength of a programme. Our job is to make that programme real — safely, to specification, and without surprises.

AMBITION

First choice for complex projects

To be the contractor that master developers and government entities in the Gulf and Africa invite first to tender on technically demanding work.

COMMITMENT

No surprises at handover

Risks raised early, changes priced before work proceeds, and quality verified through our own inspection and test plans before the client walks the floor.

01

Safety without compromise

Any employee can stop work. Programme pressure never overrides a safe system of work.

02

Integrity in every number

Honest tenders, transparent variations, and progress reports that match the site.

03

Engineering-led delivery

Temporary works, sequencing, and buildability decided by engineers, not left to chance.

04

Respect for our workforce

Audited worker welfare: accommodation standards, timely wages via WPS, and no recruitment fees.

Regional expertise

Local registrations, codes, and supply chains in every market.

Each region operates as a locally registered entity with its own estimating, procurement, and site teams, supported by group engineering, BIM, and HSE.

Safety performance

Measured, reported, and owned at board level.

Our Goal Zero programme combines leading indicators — observations, inspections, and toolbox talks — with lagging indicators reported monthly to the board and weekly to every client.

  • Site-specific HSE plans and method statements approved before mobilisation
  • Permit-to-work for hot works, confined spaces, lifting, and work at height
  • Heat-stress index monitoring with mandatory hydration and rest cycles
  • Third-party HSE audits on every site twice a year
